WeSeed Privacy Policy
Effective Date: 7/16/2009
We understand that you have concerns about the way your personal information is stored and shared. To learn more about your privacy on our Site, please read our Privacy Policy as outlined below. By visiting our website, you are accepting the practices outlined in this Privacy Policy.
This Privacy Policy covers the privacy practices that apply when you are on the WeSeed site, www.WeSeed.com (the "Site").
Please note that this Privacy Policy is subject to and incorporated by reference into our Terms of Use.
Collection of Personal Information
Our goal in collecting personal information is to provide you with an efficient, personally tailored, and enjoyable user experience.
You can generally browse parts of our Site without telling us who you are or without revealing any personal information about yourself. On certain sections of the Site, however, you are, for example, able to register for an online account, create a profile, submit questions or comments, post pictures of yourself, participate in contests or surveys or request information about the services we offer.
Many of these activities require you to provide personal information about yourself. This information may include, but is not limited to, your name, contact information, classroom password (if applicable), date of birth, username and password. We may also collect personal information that you provide in the material you post to our Site or if it is included in your correspondence with us. WeSeed collects this information to authenticate users, incident to providing our service, or to communicate with users. For example, we may use your e-mail address to send updates, alerts, newsletters, or news about our services or our Site.
WeSeed also collects other profile data including, but not limited to, personal interests, gender, the stocks in your portfolio, and the town or city where a user is located. We may make this information available to other members so that they may identify you as someone with whom they have something in common and invite you to communicate with them.
User profile information including members' pictures and profile names are also displayed in order to facilitate user interaction in the WeSeed.com social networking community.
Your name and e-mail address will searchable, shared and displayed to other users unless you choose to set your account preferences to prevent this. Users may communicate on the Site with each other through the WeSeed.com service without disclosing their e-mail addresses or real names.
Uses of Personal Information
We may use your personal information for any of the following reasons:
a. Create an online account for you on our Site;
b. Verify your identity when you use certain areas or features of our Site;
c. Internal record keeping;
d. To share with third party service providers who may provide services to our users or perform other services on our behalf (e.g. to send promotional e-mails on our behalf);
e. To improve, or operate or administer our Site;
f. To provide customer support;
g. To target our Site content and online offers to your preferences;
h. To periodically send promotional information regarding new products or services, special offers, or other information that we think you might find of interest from our company;
i. To contact you via e-mail, telephone, facsimile or mail to deliver certain services or information you have requested;
j. To more effectively facilitate the promotion of goods and services to appropriate target audiences based on your demographic information (i.e., age, postal code, address, shopping habits and other various data).
Commercial E-mails
If you do not wish to receive e-mails from us promoting products or services, you can:
1. Visit the Privacy section of the 'My Account' link on our webpage and change your settings to match your preferences; or
2. You may opt-out of receiving commercial emails from us by clicking on the "unsubscribe" link in every commercial e-mail we send.
Social Networking
You may use your log in credentials from some social networking sites to create and access your WeSeed account. You may also authorize such social networking sites to access and publish on their web sites information about you based on your activity on our Site. For example, you may enable a Facebook widget to access and publish to your Facebook page what stocks you have purchased or sold on WeSeed.com. In addition, you are able to use your contact lists from Internet sites such as Twitter or Facebook to share your WeSeed posts or Site activity with others. For example, if you post a comment about a particular stock on our Site, or buy or sell stock for your WeSeed portfolio, you can then share that information with all of your Facebook friends.
Be advised that if you provide WeSeed with your credentials for another Internet communications service and use the features that share information across our and their Internet services, WeSeed will treat this as your authorization to share your personal information with that other Internet service.
Mobile Access
Users can access the WeSeed Site through their mobile phone. By accessing our Site in this manner, you agree that WeSeed may share with third parties (including, but not limited to your carrier or device manufacturer) any information necessary to provide you with this service. We may also provide information to third parties about users who use our mobile Site in order to improve the mobile services we offer or to identify service-related issues.
We currently provide our mobile services for free, but please be aware that your carrier's normal rates and fees, such as text messaging fees, will still apply.
If any of the services we offer through our mobile Site require you to provide location information, WeSeed will only collect this information once we have your express consent to do so.
Establishing Classroom Accounts
Our Site is a great educational tool. We therefore encourage students to participate in classroom activities that use our Site.
To form a classroom group, teachers may create a classroom password that their students may use to link to the portfolios of other members of their class. To take advantage of this feature, teachers must confirm the identity of students who request to join their class network. To facilitate this, we may provide personal information to teachers who have created classroom passwords for their students.
Collection and Use of Aggregate and Anonymous Information
We may collect aggregate or anonymous information from your use of our Site such as your browser type, your ISP or operating system, the URL of previous websites you visited, and your IP address. We may share this information, which does not personally identify you, with our affiliates or agents for various administrative, security and market research purposes.
Cookies
We may collect information from you by using cookies. A cookie is a small text file stored on a user's computer containing information about the user. Cookies help us analyze Web traffic, provide user data for a particular webpage, and allow web applications to respond to you as an individual, tailoring their operations to your needs, likes and dislikes by gathering and remembering information about your preferences.
Most web browsers automatically accept cookies. If you would prefer to prevent your computer from accepting our cookies, please follow your Internet browser's steps for doing so. Please note, however, that if you do disable cookies, you may not be able to take full advantage of all of our online features or access certain sections of our Site.
Some of our current or future business partners may use cookies on our Site (for example, advertisers). However, we have no access to or control over these cookies and the information collected by these third parties is governed by their own privacy policies.
Clickstream Data
In addition, we may use third-party software to analyze the web pages on our Site that your computer visits. This information, called "clickstream data," is associated with your computer's IP address and includes other non-personally identifiable information such as the type of browser you use to access the Internet. We may collect clickstream data to analyze which portions of our Site draw the most traffic so we can improve the performance of the WeSeed website. This clickstream data may be shared with third-party advertisers. We may also share aggregate, non-personally identifiable information, such as age, gender, location, and interests, with our business partners and third-party advertisers.
Web Beacons
We reserve the right to use web beacons (sometimes also called a "web bug" or "clear gif") on our web pages or in e-mail messages we send out. This technology allows the party that set the web beacon to monitor and collect certain limited information about the viewer of the web page or e-mail message (such as the type of browser downloading the web beacon, the IP address of the computer that the web beacon is sent to and the time the web beacon was viewed, as well as the URL of the page the web beacon comes from).
Web beacons are typically very small (generally 1-by-1 pixel) and invisible to the user, but, in general, any electronic image viewed as part of a web page or e-mail message, including an advertisement or HTML content, can act as a web beacon. We may use web beacons or similar technologies for a number of purposes, such as and without limitation, to count visitors to our web pages or to monitor how our users navigate this Site, and we may include web beacons or similar technologies in e-mails in order to count how many e-mails (or particular articles, links, etc.) that we sent were actually opened.
Other Information We Collect
We may also add on any page display various metrics such as number of products rated, number of companies tracked, number of times you have received or given feedback, or other related metrics. This includes member profile pages, logged-in homepages, and other such lists.

Occasionally, we (or one of our partners) may sponsor a promotion, sweepstakes, or contest on our Site. Users may be asked to provide personal information including name, e-mail address, or home address, or to answer questions in order to participate. Participating in these activities is completely voluntary. Please note that these promotions, sweepstakes or contests will have additional terms and conditions that may apply. By participating in such activities, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
Other Disclosures of Personal Information
If we go through a business transition, such as a sale of all or part of our assets, your personal information may be one of the assets that is affected. Please note that we may transfer any information we have about you to third parties in connection with a merger, sale or acquisition involving all or part of our company, or as part of a corporate reorganization or stock sale or other change in corporate control.
We may provide your personal information to law enforcement or a government agency in response to a search warrant, subpoena or other legally valid inquiry or order, or to an investigative body when required or permitted by law. We may also disclose your personal information in order to establish, exercise or defend of legal claims, to protect our interests or preserve our rights, to enforce or apply our Terms of Use or other agreements, or as otherwise permitted or required by law.

Please note that any video, image, comments, questions or other information posted by members to the Site becomes published content and is provided on a non-proprietary and non-confidential basis. It will be accessible by other users of this Site and can be used by those people to identify you and/or send you unsolicited communications.
