Consumer shares are trending higher ahead of the opening bell Monday, lifted by CVS Caremark Corp.'s (CVS) strong fourth quarter earnings. The retailer said demand for 90-day supplies of medicines pushed up profits. CVS's fourth quarter profit rose 11 percent from a year ago, with net income reaching $1.05 billion, or 79 cents per share after adjusting for one-time items. Wall Street analysts had on average expected 78 cents per share.
