Want to call someone, watch the World Series, or look up Guatemala's Domestic National Product? The New York-based Verizon can help by providing Internet, cable, or cellphone service.
Verizon (VZ) and DVD kiosk company Redbox (CSTR) is teaming up on a streaming video partnership, a move that puts Netflix (NFLX) squarely in their crosshairs. The companies said that the joint venture will launch in the second half of the year. The service will offer "subscription services and more," and it will be available on multiple platforms like smartphones, tablets, and televisions. Also, the service will be available to everyone, not just Verizon customers. Details on this venture are unknown right now, but it does sound interesting. Don???t you think?
Verizon Wireless (VZ) will soon make some customers pay for the privilege of paying their bills. The nation's largest wireless company is instituting a $2 "convenience charge" for those customers who make one-time bill payments using a debit or credit card, either online or by telephone. The fee will go into effect on Jan. 15th. There are three ways for customers to avoid the charge: Customers can make a one-time payment using an electronic check, they can pay their bill using their home banking accounts, such as Citibank (C) Online, or they can use a Verizon gift card or rebate card. Otherwise, single telephone and online payments will incur a $2 fee. Customers can still enroll in a service that will debit their bank accounts or charge their credit cards on a recurring basis for free. They can also show up at a Verizon store to pay without incurring the fee, and they can mail checks to the company. What do you think of this?
Verizon has always been a reliable phone company for me and i plan to continue to use it.
very true- about 1 month ago
Be careful how ever- if you look at the chart, Verizon's stock has gone up in the past few months, and the "fair share price indicator" on the right is pointing toward the red. I think that this stock is inevitably going to suffer a temporary downturn. So unless you plan on investing in this in the Long-Term, I'd be careful.- about 1 month ago
Verizon products have always been very reliable for me. I will continue to support them until they screw up.
Verizon should keep going up for a little while at least until Christmas.
