Not sure what Voda means, but Vodafone is all about cell-phone communication. The England-based company provides voice and data services for customers in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and the good ole US of A.
All that stuff about AT&T iPhone customers itching to switch to Verizon? If it's true, it hasn't happened yet. Verizon (VZ) said it activated 2.3 million iPhones in the second quarter, far fewer than the 3.6 million AT&T (T) activated over the same three-month period. AT&T activated exactly as many iPhones as it did in the previous three months. But that was up 11% from a year ago???analysts had expected that many AT&T subscribers would hold off on purchasing iPhones until Apple (AAPL) unveiled a new version, which is widely rumored for Sept. Of course, the battle between the two leading wireless networks isn't only about the iPhone. And in all other areas, Verizon stood strong. Verizon Wireless, which is half-owned by Verizon and half-owned by European wireless giant Vodafone (VOD), said it added 1.3 million customers under contract during the quarter. By contrast, AT&T added just 331,000.

Verizon Wireless, jointly owned by Verizon Communications (VZ) and Vodafone (VOD), cut the price of plans to attract new customers. Verizon cut its unlimited family talk and text plan from $229.99 to $149.99 and its nationwide unlimited voice plan was reduced to $69.99 from $99.99. Existing customer contracts will not be affected, but customers may switch over to any of the new plans without a penalty or contract extension. AT&T (T) lowered the price of each of its unlimited plans by $30, leaving the two companies neck and neck yet again. Also just announced, new and existing U.S. Cellular (USM) customers can sign up for the Unlimited National Individual Plan and pay $69.99 a month for unlimited voice calls. Families can add additional lines for additional fees. Current customers can switch from other plans to the new plans without a contract extension Do you think Sprint and T-Mobile will follow suit?
