SolarWinds' Head Geek to Present at Cisco Networkers Event in Barcelona

AUSTIN, TX -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 01/21/10 --
SolarWinds® (NYSE: SWI), a leading provider of
powerful and affordable network management software to more
than 88,000 customers worldwide, today announced that Josh Stephens, head
geek and vice president, will present at Networkers at Cisco® Live in
Barcelona on January 25-28. Stephens' presentation, "Hidden Secrets of
IOS," takes place on January 27 at 12:45 p.m. in the Gold Theater.

Joining Stephens in the presentation is Robert Browning, Associated
Newspapers
network manager. They will break down the benefits and the
secrets to using IP SLA, NetFlow and EnergyWise as part of daily network
management strategies. Attendees will learn how Associated Newspapers
harnesses Cisco IOS technology with SolarWinds' products to:

-- Quickly diagnose network slowdowns across 100 sites
-- Analyze network traffic serving 15,000+ employees
-- Identify bandwidth hogs
-- Reduce the energy consumption of its IP-based devices

Stephens has nearly 20 years of experience in network management systems,
network engineering and software development. A frequent speaker at events,
this is Stephens' fourth year to present at Networkers. He regularly
delivers SolarWinds "Geek Speak" Webcasts, where
he discusses top technologies, trends and best practices that help
thousands of network engineers.

"As companies continue to grow, managing the network can be particularly
painful if network administrators are using archaic tools that offer little
insight," Stephens said. "Network administrators need to take full
advantage of network tools that allow them to continuously monitor network
health. Networkers at Cisco Live provides a collaborative venue where
industry influencers can address and discuss best practices for making the
most of Cisco environments."

In addition to his session presentation, Stephens will also discuss the
following in the SolarWinds booth, no. G4, every half-hour:

-- Managing Virtualization: Learn about the challenges that virtualization
of server, network, and storage infrastructures and assets brings to
network operations and management, and the best practices for handling
them.
-- Hidden Secrets of IOS: Get insights on leveraging technologies built-in
to Cisco IOS that can enhance network management strategy. Technologies to
be covered include NetFlow, IP SLA and EnergyWise.
-- Champions League Mania: Hear how to survive the times when non-
essential network traffic wreaks havoc on critical network applications,
and steps to detect and avoid these situations.
