Disney's (DIS) upcoming "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" is not your average Disney film. Based on the classic short segment from "Fantasia" featuring a wizardly Mickey Mouse, dancing broomsticks and all other forms of magic, the updated "Sorcerer" brings the famous tale into the 21st century. The flick stars Nicholas Cage, Jay Baruchel and Alfred Molina. It takes place in modern-day Manhatten where Balthazar Blake is a master sorcerer trying to defend the city from his arch-nemesis, Maxim Horvath. Balthazar can't do it alone, so he recruits Dave Stutler, a seemingly average guy who demonstrates hidden potential, as his reluctant prot??g??. The sorcerer gives his unwilling accomplice a crash course in the art and science of magic, and these unlikely partners will work together to stop the forces of darkness. A video game based on the film will be released on July 13, 2010 for Nintendo DS (NTDOY). The magic will begin in theaters on July 14th. Will you go see it? What animated Disney movie would you like to see in live action?

Nintendo (NTDOY) goes 3-D! Nintendo released some new details about a new handheld gaming???Nintendo 3DS. It features a 3-D display but does not require players to wear special glasses. The Nintendo 3DS features two screens???one that shows 3-D gaming and another that users touch to control games. A sliding control lets players adjust the 3-D effect to make it more dramatic or to remove it entirely. Nintendo has installed two cameras, which let users shoot photos in three dimensions and then display them on the screen. They listed several games that will be available for the 3DS upon its release, including a Madden football game, a FIFA soccer game, "Resident Evil," "Batman," "Assassin's Creed" and "Metal Gear Solid." However, Nintendo did not say how much the system will cost or when it will be available. What do you think? How clear 3-D pictures would look on the Nintendo 3DS' 3.5-inch screen, which is about the size of many smartphones.

Nintendo has proven thru the years that it can overcome any challenge from the video game crash to sega. Any company that can do that and be the birth place of the Final Fanatasy series will always succeed in life.
