He might not be the richest guy in the world anymore, but Microsoft's uber-geek Bill Gates brought technological ease into a majority of American homes with Windows operating systems. Microsoft develops and supports software and hardware that include operating systems, a wide range of application systems, and all sorts of electronic goodies. Microsoft doesn't forget the fun, too - the company sells the Xbox 360 video game console and the Zune digital music player.
