You've probably heard of this one - hamburgers? Golden arches? Yummy fries? The Chicago-area - based McD's owns more than 31,000 fast-food restaurants world-wide, including one pretty near where you are right now, we're guessing.
11:26 AM Eastern Standard Time, 02/05/2010 (MidnightTrader) -- Consumer shares were mixed during mid-morning trading after jobs data showed the U.S. employment still struggled but showed signs it was improving. Friday morning, the Labor Department reported U.S. January jobless rate falling to 9.7%, its lowest level since August. This news came on top of data from Britain that showed personal insolvencies jumped in the fourth quarter as the recession pushed up unemployment and forced a record number of Britons to default on their debts. Women's apparel group Bebe Stores Inc. (BEBE) is surging in morning trade Friday after better-than-expected results for the second quarter. Coach (COH) and Nordstrom (JWN) are lower after Goldman Sachs lowered its rating on the shares to "neutral" from "buy." Drugstore operator and pharmacy benefits manager CVS Caremark Corp. reports its fourth quarter results before the stock market opens Monday.
