Consumer shares are lower ahead of the bell Thursday even after Wal-Mart announced it would shed 300 jobs of a total of about 12,000 at its headquarters. The retailer said jobs lost will run the gamut from legal, finance, corporate affairs, human resources, and IT.
Meanwhile, eyes are on Kraft Foods Inc. (KFT) which plans to issue debt to pay for its takeover of Cadbury plc as borrowing costs for companies rise.
