Google Inc (GOOG)

Imagine a world without Google. Betcha can't. Google, which made itself famous through their search engine and ability to tailor ads to your searches, has become an internet destination unto itself. The company now has its traditional search business as well as a financial site, email, blogs, maps, and image searches. Plus, the company's G1 phone is kinda cool.

The king of all search engines Google (GOOG) has acquired social search engine Aardvark. Aardvark is a relatively new startup from former Googlers that uses social distribution channels to get immediate answers to your questions. When you sign up for Aardvark, you need to enter your main interests. Aardvark automatically tags questions, tries to find the users that could answer the questions and sends them the questions. In some ways, Aardvark is very much like an alternative search engine that puts your social circle to work. This is the future of social search and Google is already in the process of integrating social search with standard search results. What do you think? Is it ‘Google-domination?
