Ebay Inc (EBAY)

Want to sell your old stuff or buy a rare item online? EBay is the place to go. You can find anything and everything for sale and you can even set up your own side business if you want. It also owns PayPal, which has become a way to pay for things online. Don't forget about EBay-owned Skype, either - it lets you make phone calls around the world via your computer.

The neon-lit Nikes that Marty McFly rocked in Back to the Future sequel are no longer part of a fictional 2015 but will soon be available for anyone willing to plunk down a hefty chunk of change. Introducing the Nike (NKE) limited-edition Air McFlys (formally known as the Nike Air Mag). The proceeds from the 1,500 pairs of shoes, which will be auctioned off on eBay (EBAY), will go to the Michael J. Fox's Parkinson's disease research foundation. Are you a fan of Fox???s or the movie? Will you bid for a good cause?

Microsoft (MSFT) has agreed to buy Internet phone service provider Skype, jointly owned by eBay (EBAY) for $8.5 billion in cash. The deal gives Microsoft access to the market for real-time video and voice communications. The software maker said it plans to use Skype to support such products as the Xbox gaming system and Windows Phone. Also, BlackBerry maker Research In Motion (RIMM) is one of the companies that has been mentioned as a possible Microsoft target. Microsoft is getting some great technologies. Would you now invest in Microsoft?
