Need a light? Duke Energy can hook you up (literally), as the Charlotte-based company supplies gas and electricity to almost four million customers in the Midwestern and Southern U.S., as well as people in Mexico, Brazil, Ecuador, and other countries. But wait, there's more: Duke develops and manages telecommunications systems for wireless, local, and long distance companies as well as educational, governmental, financial and health-care entities, and Duke is also active in real estate in 10 states across the southeastern and southwestern United States.
Also heard about this company from reading Thomas Friedman's Hot, Flat, and Crowded and Duke's CEO (James Rogers) really seems to be on top of his game. Not only on the business side, but on the environmental side of things. Which will no doubt influence how the business does...
Michael thinks if Duke Energy Corp New were a cell phone, it would be a Razr.
Brian thinks if Duke Energy Corp New were a historic sports franchise, it would be New York Yankees.
